Family with potential

To become a father is normally a rather easy thing. Being a father, is comparably difficult. How do fathers view themselves when balancing their job and their family? In which context do they want to act? How can fathers actively and consciously find their roles and not just passively “function” within the family dynamic? How can family and job be successfully combined, especially when both father and mother are working full-time?

The Bengel & Engel team does not only actively lobby for working mothers, but also and especially for the interests of the fathers. We work in close cooperation with the Hamburg initiative Vaeter e.V.. We are connected to many stakeholders in the field and have intensive exchanges with various experts, from psychologists, to sociologists and representatives of companies. The result of our active engagement are interesting events, which we are enhancing and developing step by step. Through our contact page you can learn more about the current subjects and dates.

On three to four occasions per year we offer culinary and communicative events in our establishment. Sundays between 10am and 2pm, fathers and their children from all over Hamburg get together at Bengel & Engel for the father-children brunch. Here they can enjoy chatting, laughing, playing, eating and making new friends.
Bengel & Engel invites experts for presentations on an irregular basis: What changes when the second child arrives? What are the most important needs of the child? How can the professional goals and the care-taking of the child be best accommodated? The presentations are normally followed by a lively discussion, to provide every father with a maximum of thought-provoking ideas.
